HIMALAYA BLESSING CHARITABLE TRUSTCHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER AT KESTOPUR
The members of the trust have been involved in child care social work individually since 2015, standing for the local community people during their poor and sorrowful condition in North 24 Parganas in West Bengal. In the beginning, local centers were inaugurated with some of the basic services, after much discussion with the community and our activities were introduced to the local people and community leaders, to get the opportunity for providing the facilities and services for the children, and the communities came to agree for site establishment. Honorable persons of the localities provided us with shelters to conduct child care and development services. We started our activities with the 10 or 12 needy children initially. We have observed that the communities have
many issues and difficulties such as most of the families were from below the poverty line, but now we are sponsoring above 60 children. To help the child to self-arrange for his / her basic needs, too aware of their child’s body growth & health perfectly and able to provide the needs of children on time, to help the children to understand how they can be responsible and at home to do the right manner and behavior with family members, to help them to study safe and happy in an appropriate environment.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER AT SULONGURI
We have observed that communities have many issues and difficulties such as most of the families were from below the poverty line, having low income, unemployment, poor living condition, no proper sanitation facilities, no access to the purified drinking water. Even due to lack of proper guardianship or counseling, most of the school students drop out from school and entering into involvement with anti-social activities, starting to practice drinking alcohol & smoking, creating a harmful environment for the upcoming generation. It was such a great challenge for us to face these difficulties for transforming the communities, but we never gave up and worked at our best level. We focused on the child development activities, started to analyze the needs of the child, andÂ
tried to provide and conducted few useful and helpful activities for the local community children. now we are sponsoring above 50 children through providing hygiene, nutrition food, social and health awareness and guidance, school supplies, and medical check-ups to treatment the diseases in the early stage, too aware of their child’s body growth & health perfectly and able to provide the needs of children on time, to enable the children, learn the importance of values such honesty respect to others and love and sharing and to develop the skills and creative mind.

The challenges that we could find during COVID 19 pandemic situation
- Â Parents lose their source of income, jobs & small businesses. Struggling to provide for the needs of their children, thousands of children are crying for food from our surroundings.
- Till India is facing the challenges to prevent COVID-19 lack of proper social awareness. People are not ready to accept the precaution of COVID 19.
- Due to COVID 19 Pandemic situation, most of the medical facilities are limited to access to medical treatments.
- Â Since 1-year school benches are empty, schools are shut down. Most children are losing their keen interest in the study. They are motivating to labor for helping families.
The solutions that we could find during COVID 19 pandemic situation to relief
- We are empowering women to be self-sustainable, women can take care of their families, we help them by SHG program and providing COTTAGE INDUSTRY training like Candle making, handbag making, cotton mask making.
- Â We are organizing and campaigning on COVID 19 precaution, using masks & sanitizer, maintaining social distance. Distributing thousands of masks & sanitizers to needy and poor people.
- Â We provide free health check-ups for community children to access medical treatments.
- We look after children to provide the essential study materials, hygiene supplies & nutritious food. We are providing children family’s emergency relief kits like Rice, oil, flour, soybean, dry chickpea, Dal, etc.
